What is a Scheduled Report Template? #
A Schedule allows a Report Template to run one or more reports at a particular time. Additionally, Schedules can be setup to be recurring if you want the same set of reports delivered to you on a regular interval.
Getting Started #
This document provides the instructions for configuring Scheduled Templates. Before you begin, please ensure you have the following:
- Credentials to login to ISI Analytics
- The “Report Admin” or “Report User” role is assigned to your user
- A New Template or Existing Template with Owner or Editor Roles
Create a Schedule #
One or more templates can be scheduled at the same time. There are two places you can create a Schedule.
Schedule from the Report Templates Page #
Schedule a Single Template #
- Login to ISI Analytics
- Once logged in, browse to the Report Templates page by clicking the Report Templates menu option from the navigation bar.
- Click the Button to the right of the template and select Schedule.
- Finish configuring the Schedule Options
Schedule Multiple Templates #
More than one Template can be scheduled at the same time. When multiple Templates are added to a schedule, the same date range and output types are applied to all selected Templates.
- Use the above steps to browse to Report Templates.
- Use the checkboxes to the left of the Template Name to select the Templates you want to include in a Schedule.
- Click the Schedule Templates button above the Template Names
- Finish configuring the Schedule Options
Schedule from the Scheduled Templates Page #
- Login to ISI Analytics
- Once logged in, browse to the Scheduled Templates page by clicking the Scheduled Templates menu option from the navigation bar.
- Click the Button on the top right of the screen
- Finish configuring the Schedule Option
Schedule Options #
Templates #
- Schedule Name: Required, The display name for the schedule
- Description: Optional, Additional information about the schedule
- For each Template in the schedule, define a File Name for the outputted file. Don’t include the extension like .xlsx or .csv.
- Add to Filename: Date information about the report to be outputted in the filename. Current Date/Time will add the Date/Time when the Template was run. Report Date Range will include the filtered for Date Range.
Date Range #
The date/time filter that will be applied to the template(s) when the schedule is run.
Schedule #
Defines when the schedule should be run. Schedule can be Regularly Scheduled Monthly/Weekly/Daily/Hourly or run once at a Specific Date and Time
Output #
Defines who the template(s) should be delivered to and in what format.
- Output Format: Email Link will send the report as a link the receiver can click on to download. Email Attachment will attach the report to the email. If the attachment is larger than 24.5 MB, the file will be replaced with a link automatically.
- Email(s): List of emails that should receive the report(s). After inputting each email, press Enter to add it.
- Subject: Subject of the email when the report is sent
- Message: Message to be included in the email
- Format:
- Formatted Report: Outputs as an Excel file. Export of the report including Group By Headings, Fields, and Summaries. Us this to quickly review and visualize data.
- Details Only: Outputs as a CSV. Export of the Groupings and Fields flatted to a single line per record with no formatting. Use this to do further calculations or upload to another system.
Edit a Schedule #
- Follow the above steps to browse to Scheduled Templates
- Click the Button to the right of the schedule
- Modify the Schedule Options as needed
Manually Run a Schedule #
- Follow the above steps to browse to Scheduled Templates
- Click the Button to the right of the schedule
- The results can be found in Report History
Delete a Schedule #
- Follow the above steps to browse to Scheduled Templates
- Click the Button to the right of the schedule
